Surely if even first few burns patients show safety and no side effects that should hold current levels. If it comes back and even shows 10% increase in wound healing and bacteria killing over standard care surely just that would be huge bearing in mind we may only be slightly better than standard but don't add to anti bacterial resistance if commonly used.

if we show more than 10% improvement over standard treatment then surely that makes this a billion dollar company before we even think about sepsis? I am thinking burns is probably a bigger and more urgent target due to just how many people suffer burns and the fact infection is such a risk. Also the fact effect might be shown without the added risk of injecting the medication.

I'm wondering if this initial trial might also lead to a treatment for these sores that some elderly or bed ridden patients seem to suffer from that just never heal.

Surface treatment for all bacterial skin infections that doesn't increase anti biotic resistance sounds huge to me. 1Billion mc works out at about $5.50. That would be nice.
Sales alone for skin product could be 1billion plus, never mind mc.
