I was an employee of CSL at Parkville when it was floated on the ASX in the early 90's.
All employees were offered shares at $1.80 & if you purchased 1,000 shares you got another 1,000 for free = $1,800 for 2,000 shares.
With the 1:3 split the 2,000 shares are now worth about $1.8M in round numbers. I didn't participate at the time as I was young with no knowledge of shares.
A lot of the older employees at the time didn't want to move to the new facility in Broadmeadows & accepted redundancy packages. One bloke invested $250k at the time & would now be worth $125M if all shares were still retained.
In hindsight, if I had invested $20k at the time it would now be worth about $11M. I will not miss my opportunity with RCE this time.
