Hey guys, Not entirely on topic here but thought I'd share a little story I heard from the missus today. She works as a nurse in a nursing home. One of her colleagues (Also a nurse) had a workplace accident 2 weeks ago. A resident dropped a glass, which broke and actually cut the top of her foot. This cut resulted in an infection. Nothing out of the norm. HOWEVER, the infection grew worse, meaning she was hospitalised. The infection was antibiotic RESISTANT. Yesterday she has has FOUR of her five toes amputated. Yes. Amputated!
Absolutlely nuts. Made me think of Recce's reason and motivation to find a synthetic anti-infective. If RCE get this right then we're talking big business.
