One other problem to consider with other anti biotic is they are approved for use but held back by many hospitals for "last resort" usage. This means that while they may be effective and may even have great margins on sales ultimately they just sit on the shelf due to the risk that bacteria may develop resistance to these last resort drugs if over used, leaving no viable options.
hopefully recce has the advantage that there is little or no risk of building immunity and it is less specific for the target bacteria, apparently kills many different types. This might mean rather than kept in reserve 327 could actually become main first line treatment. Imagine the quantity that might be sold if that were the case. surely if they can clearly demonstrate no resistance after multiple uses during trials why would any hospital not use it first?
