The proposed Act (not approved) is designed to attract lots of new competition which I suspect it will do. FDA approval is required for eligibility and the current $11b budget cap combined with the money on offer I suspect will create a winner take all type of outcome for a handful of successful applicants. But you've got to be in it to win it. Worth keeping an eye on to see how the Act progresses. It will be very interesting to see which drugs end up being successful (and which aren't) in securing a payment stream.
