They are not producing a vaccine for covid-19 it is a potential therapy.
covid-19 is giving the opportunity to do accelerated / fast tracked research/testing via CSIRO etc so why not take it. covid-19 is not the only virus in the world & the results will be applicable to many other viruses, even if 'only' in the corona virus family - great, common cold etc
If covid-19 research gets them to stage of proving it is safe in various admin pathways in humans then that also is applicable to other scenario's as well
All research data is good research data. Research/test away I say.
