US Vanadium produce some of the highest quality V2O5 (Vanadium Pentoxide) in the world. For those here who don't want to be misled by the ignorant few, as pcorb said it's not bulk ore or concentrate, it's pure oxidised Vanadium, taking up considerably less weight and space.

We still have TMT devotees calling AVL's resource oxidised shite and worthless. This is quite funny because in essence they are calling their main GVP worthless. The ore body (although broken by a few faults) is essentially 'contiguous'. The whole resource is heavily oxidised at surface to various depths dependent on location (higher in the north, lower in the south). The jewel in the crown Yarrabubba is/was a stranded resource for TMT being surrounded by AVL tenements. The restrictions on mining it (in the small print of the integration study) were too prohibitive.

If you listen to how they talk it's as if you could scape any TMT tenement with a spoon and be straight into the massive 'fresh' Vanadium-bearing titanomagnetite. I posted here info from their own website but ignorance (or the inability to read a cross-section) abounds.

The southern Yarrabubba area is one of best parts of the strike and outcropping but with a >15km strike there are many outcropping areas and areas covered with a thin top layer.

Yes it's only 10-15m to the fresh ore at Yarra (and AVL's surrounding tenements) that's why both co's will include them in any mining schedule to improve economics.

The person saying ad nauseum "can't understand weathering/oxidation", "can't read a cross section" must be referring to themselves?

The information is on TMT's website for all to read. It's there in black and white (well colour actually).

At the GVP it can be over 50m to the fresh ore. That's a lot of overburden to deal with. AVL have patented a process to deal with oxidised ores (grinding to dust as you call it here)

This section over the northern portion of the Ga-banintha deposit shows the weathering profile varies with the base of complete oxidation (BOCO) and the top of fresh (TOFR).
"The weathering of the mineralised units has a direct impact on the recoveries of vanadium. The vanadium at Ga-banintha and Yarrabubba is associated with magnetite which is magnetic, hence the first step in processing is magnetic separation. Oxidised magnetite is not magnetic and cannot be separated from the gangue minerals (silica, alumina) efficiently."
And you don't need to be Poindexter to understand this one...

FWIW I'm not pro takeover. There is nothing AVL needs from TMT. It's a huge amount of unnecessary dilution, for what? More of the same resource which does not provide a tangible increase in valuation. However, if this is the only way to get this project up then so be it. The minority screaming they want a few more shekels is just human nature and to be expected. IMO there will not be any better offer.
If the deal goes ahead the hypothetical $217M valuation (without any price sensitive catalysts) will not hold. We can see it's already eroded. Long termers who believe in Vanadium will probably sit it out. For those looking to enter the V space probably a good time, perhaps even post consolidation...

No, at 16:1 that would put TMT at 45c. I would give that serious consideration, and probably take it.

Actually, yes, I really DO need to know the rationale behind the takeover. I get the "one mine one orebody" argument, and it makes perfect sense - but the timing doesn't.
It actually reeks of "lets do a massive tree-shake pre-approvals to see who we can scare out"
It's after the takeover I am concerned with - 16:1 or 12:1 or 20:1 - it makes no odds if RCF intend to simply drive the AVL SP down,chomp away on the cheap shares, and turn AVL into a 'holding venture' that is waiting to be flipped for profit to a bigger player in the green energy space.
The RCF proxies won't be ringing me or you - they will be calling just enough people to get the 50% + 1
Retail holders are incredibly vulnerable post takeover - surely you can see this?

As per a comment you will have already noted on the AVL forum; Even ‘Blind Freddie’ can see why the merger has been decided upon.

We will all find out very shortly.

… not so much kool aid in those days although going for most money in the short term was more of an agenda, even back then, than solid research
- eg the argument RCF was an evil predator (a view that was strong in these forums at the time, although noone has ever given a valid case for why it should have agreed to the merger proposal on terms which make it the ‘biggest loser’ financially.)
