    this is what investopedia didn't show on their chart

    also refer to your first post, the example from strike
    the "downtrend" on the chart is not referring to the left shoulder, it is the prior trend before the inverse H&S formation
    and from RCR chart it is clearly that before inverse H&S formation is formed, it is in uptrend.
