    I have read many books but my favorite is "profiting in Bull & Bear Markets by Stan Weinstein" -- no need to buy it -- You will find a copy in most public Libraries. It explains most T/A and supplies graphs to illistrate the point he is making.... then at the end of each chapter; asks questions and supplies the answers to ensure you understand the suject. He uses a a proprietary indicator being Relative strength which you cannot use but apart from this its one method of finding value in stocks.
    I don't use his method directly but value the education obtained by reading his book.
