Cleverly put together, selectively intertwined , but any good journalist could cobble together a counter view, except theyre hard to find because most journalists are still sucking on the nipple of Chardonnay Socialism while singing the Internationale' or lunching on kebabs in Habibi's as their show of solidarity..
Sure the Yanks interfere, sure they supply the weapons to the Israelis and also the other side. And so do the Chinese and the Russians.
Hell, we all know its the US Good old boys that armed IRAQ and just about every other third world dictatorship with Scud missiles, AK47 and SKS automatic rifles , T72 battle tanks, MIG and Yak fighters,Hind choppers, SAM systems and bolt cutters for those toe manicures.
So why is it, if the US is supporting international terrorism, all these guys with balaclavas and rag hats all appear to be firing into the air with Kalashnikovs and humping soviet and chinese made anti tank weapons.?
While its good sport for all the lefties to point the finger at the US (must admit they sometimes are a bumbling lot) i still know which side my bread is buttered on, so perhaps a bit of balance is in order.
Whilst the CIA might have stupidly bankrolled a few corrupt Sth American dictators, who the hell bankrolled Cuba, Angola, Mozambique, Sudan, half of that sh*thole they call Africa, the Pathet Lao, Kmer Rouge, Maoist guerillas, and a whole string of islamic names in the Middle East and Sth east Asia that i cant even get my lips around.
Who destabilzed Jordan so much, a fairly rational middle east government until they were booted out, then moved on and dragged Lebanon into a civil war, until they were booted out once again? Yasser may have mellowed over the years, stopped his plane and ship hijackings, but he's left a legacy of suicidal crazies that he now cant control.
Sure the yanks act in their own interest, but since when didnt any country. But for my money, i certainly wouldnt want the Yanks to go back to the days of inward looking fortress America. What if the Germans hadnt sunk the Lusitania in WW1 or the japs at Pearl harbour in WW11, what if Hitler hadnt stupidly declared war on the US at the same time, and the yanks just trundled along unaligned, looking after their commerce and trade, i dont think the world would look quite the same today. What if they hadnt supplied the munitions to Britain and convoys to Murmansk, and maintained a "non interference policy" , how would the map look today. Wasnt it the Communist party of australia that spoke out against fighting Hitler until he turned on Mother Russia , then it was a total about face by these bleeding hearts who then couldnt rally their comrades to enlist fast enough.
Sure the Palestinians need a homeland, and so do the Israelis. But what happens to men of good will, men who want peaceful relations with their neighbours guys like Rabin and Sadat? -----They get knocked off by the crackpots that these journos like to romanticise, while they look longingly at their 60's Che Gueverra t-shirts and flairs!!
Theres a certain element, like Hamas and AlQeada that do not want resolution , they want to set up their own regimes , which are usually autocratic, totalitarian and brutal. As a Palestinian representative said after Bin laden aligned his cause with the Palestinian problem.."How nice , he just noticed our problem 2 days ago." or something to that effect.
Anytime these journos would like to set up shop in China, Irag, Iran, sudan, Libya and print their expose's of their hosts, ill be quite happy to read them . Unfortunately , i doubt they would ever get to print and these champions of the oppressed might find being dismembered while theyre still alive, a mind changing experience.
