re: aboriginals - unhealthiest Absolutely...i was interested to read her speech to the PM.

There were quite a few "perceptions" of her own woven thru the speech that represent opinions but presented as fact.

Never-the-less....she has moved from the community ...gotten her quals and now seeks to work for her people

For mine...that is the answer to much of their issues including Palm Island

Gather all their doctors, teachers, social workers and other professionals and get them out of thweir safe little sinecures and padded situatiosn and get em over to PI and work with their own people effecting change

Let their own people deal with their issues and find solutions and present them with the alternative role models they so desparately seek

That will once and for all remove the vestiges of the excuse that "you whities come over here and impose your white-man ways on us - it aint gonna work"

Hopefully that, together with acceptedly paternalistic and seemingly condescending policies

...the cycle will be broken

Dont break the cycle and NOTHING will help
