    Magnesium alloy is the lightest commercial metal structure materials , mostly in a dense hexagonal structure , it is difficult to produce deformation at room temperature , and the lower plasticity limits the application of magnesium alloy. Increasing the deformation temperature of the magnesium alloy can activate the prismatic sliding system and the taper slip system of the magnesium alloy , and then improve the plasticity of the magnesium alloy , which can cause large deformation , reduce the production cost and broaden the application range. However , the magnesium alloy is very easy to burn at high temperature and oxidation , the existing flame-retardant magnesium alloy mechanical properties are not ideal. In order to increase the application range of magnesium alloy and improve the deformation temperature of magnesium alloy , it is necessary to improve the mechanical properties of magnesium alloy with flame retardancy. In order to come up with good mechanical properties of flame-retardant magnesium alloy , paper chooses Mg-3Y-0.6Zr base alloy , by adding different contents of Ce element , smelting Mg-3Y-x Ce-0.6Zr (x = 0,0.7,1.5 , 2,3,4.5) alloy , and by observation of its microstructure, mechanical properties , EDS analysis of the microstructure of the alloy, mechanical properties, fracture morphology and elemental distribution of test and scanning electron microscopy scanning.Studies have shown that , in Mg-3Y-0.6Zr alloys appropriate to add Ce element can refine the microstructure of the alloy , to enhance the mechanical properties of the alloy. Compared with other alloys , Mg-3Y-1.5Ce-0.6Zr alloy has the best comprehensive mechanical properties , its elongation is 21% and the tensile strength is 184.71MPa .
