re: appointment of director It is no sense hypothesising, goarmy, about what happened with China rail - a company bigger than BHP- until DP is prepared to release all the official correspondence between CR and JRV when CR asked for an extension of time.
Did DP, at that time, consult with the other directors, including the ones he sacked? Did he consult with Double Link who set up the deal?

We do not know the answers, but the longer DP hides this correspondence, and fails to truthfully answers these questions, with the appropriate substantiation, the more time we have to ponder about the veracity of statements being issued by DP and his ability to run any company.
Consider what might have happened, if he did give CR an extension and not acted so reactively.

Perhaps by now he, his family and we, the shareholders, would be sitting on a much larger bank balance than we are now. I am sure the members of his family, as do the shareholders,would now be feeling very disappointed at this loss due to the failure to negotiate and the knee-jerk reaction that was made by DP to CR.
