re: bad news dow up I've seen those ascending wedges break downwards as well.
they are not necessarily bullish. To me they indicate there is a breakout coming, that break could be in either direction.
RE Marc Faber - yes, he has said the rally may continue for a little while (said that over a month ago now). but also said the rally would come to an end and we'd see another downswing. He referred to bonds as his indicator. I read an article on bonds on the weekend, the analyst are indicating that bonds are indicating the market should be falling - so either bonds needs to change, OR stocks are going to fall.
its not often bonds get it wrong - hence, I'm bearish. However, I am often wrong ... lol
