The strip ratio is driven by grade and costs. If there is more ore than expected as we go down, they will open the pit up back close to the original design strip ratio so as to get more ore and depth. When done properly, a higher strip ratio is synonymous to high grades and/or low costs. We should welcome a high strip ratio, not worry about it (with the one rider - as long as the reserve and plan has been done properly).
