I understand your concerns about the ongoing decision and subsequent appeal. My main want is that somewhere in this fog a clear way forward is found to access the total "Silk of Silk" coking coal resource that BTU believe to be on the Escarpment.
The current pain that is being felt is being inflicted on us, might possibly be rewarded by a mine with a life of about 6 years.
It is access to the balance of resource that could mean a 30 or 50 year mine life. BTU's H.B has said "we have never said we wanted to strip mine the whole Escarpment" when he said that BTU was in the process of mapping the entire resource, to enable a whole of resource plan.
A whole of resource mining plan, with approved access to the entire resource, a world class Environmental offset outcome that includes an annual dividend to the Environment and then maybe we can move to the fabled $3 per share once whispered about.
So, are we longing for approvals to be upheld, yes; but more importantly approvals that are clear emphatic and unambiguous will generate the best outcomes for BTU the SH's, the people of the West Coast and perhaps most importantly the Environment
My understang is that the Hearing in realtion to resource consents will be final, unless a point of Law is brought into q'n
I am not so certain on the climate change issue as I have move BTU to the second bottom drawer having some time ago reduced some exposure so any outcome will not be fatal for me and mine
Sorry if I am repeating earlier points but it is "the Question" going forward in my mind
