Hi All,

I remember reading a while ago that BTU were going to adopt a different approach with the other leases. If I recall correctly they can make an application direct to the minister who must grant or deny the application within a nine month period.

I do not recall the legislation but assume it may have been a ministerial power under the RMA. As I recall there was no appeal process available to such a decision.

Can someone who is more familar with NZ resources legislation and ministerial powers comment on the above.
