Would todays copper price have much real relevence to the Indophil share price, its a few years away from production. I would assume the big miners have sophisticated models of supply and demand for comodities before they commit billions to a project. Possibly theyre a bit unnerved. I thought the main reason Xstrata raised capital was to reduce debt (did they owe 13 billion prior to share placement?) Having said that I understand the long term outlook for copper is widely considered to be very good. Xstrata spends billions every year on developement, Tampakan shouldnt be a stretch for them even in these times, though its probably rash for me to say so. I still think Alsons may come up with some thing, I havent heard anything to rule them out. Possibly both parties are wondering how to avoid a bidding war. I certainly hope the shares rise to reflect their value.
