ages ago, watso made a point of chatting extensively with the directors, of companies in which he held shares. of course, they cannot give inside information, but watso knows a few things, and can ask the right questions, with compromising anybody, but at the same time get a better understanding of a prospect. trouble, is, that the company's would always be bullish. in the end, watso stopped going to annual meetings, because he would always leave a meeting, thinking that a company might be worth a punt. one assumes that presentations at the agm, are always done to impress shareholders, and to give them hope. geologists, who attend the meetings, on behalf of a company, always sound positive -after all, a project might be their baby - and the next hole might be the one . it does not matter that 50 holes have been duds, because all that does, is tell the company that they have really been drilling in the wrong place, but they have learned a bit - eg - dip not as shallow as first thought. Indeed, watso has seen a prospectus, which valued the vended in tenements on the basis of past drilling costs, on the basis, that at least the company knew where the useless ground was. faulting has shifted the orebody. surface depletion a bit more than expected, etc etc
oh - back to citiview - well watso has a bit of a red from time to time - and what a joke - what!!!!! $40m spent, and only one hole drilled??????
watso engages in negative posting on some stocks, and is constantly told to get lost - yet watso's call's on the stocks have tended to be quite accurate. at the end, of the day, of course, a stock will rise and fall on itsown merits
