I did suspect (and posted it here) the strange Global mechanics early on, and sold, but I was lucky enough to not be close to the story, and I didn't know any of the players. Falling in love with a company tends to amplify the good or bad.

Syringe didn't wasn't the victim of a scam IMO. He basically lost money by gearing up sky-high, and actually had Opes not gone down, he probably would have been financially shafted even worse because he wouldn't have had his debt shared among others who were less geared. Anyway he didn't need to complain about it here, as he had much better outlets available to him (SMH+TV etc.). And finally as it's turned out CFG never recovered sufficiently.
