Welcome to Day 7 in the DT pre-market, morning & afternoon 'Trials'!

The DOW was weaker overnight due to consumer confidence falling to a 10 month low, mass lay-offs edging higher, and more US Banks have fallen into a higher risk area

On the brighter side, some of the big US Quarterlies that came out were very good including Home Depot., Target, & Sears/KMart.

DJIA Index: Finished the session down 100.97 pts.
SPI Futures: Down 54 pts.

Of Note: Ben Bernanke speaks this evening in the US - Semiannual Monetary Policy Report to the Congress, before the House Committee on Financial Services, U.S. House of Representatives [Source: Bloomberg]

Gold is Down $9.10 and is currently sitting at $1,103.50/oz (Kitco); Oil is Down $1.45 to $78.86/barrel (NYMEX/Bloomberg); and the AUD/USD is currently trading at 0.8913 cents [Forex. Live].
