'Market Focus' in the US this evening

"Another rise in inventories combined with another fall in sales could make the health of the wholesale sector Friday's focus." [Source: nasdaq.com., Mark Pender]

'Market Reflections' from the last trading session (09.09.2010)

"A drop in weekly jobless claims and a rise in exports pushed the Dow up slightly to 10,415. Initial jobless claims fell substantially to 451,000 though reporting delays tied to the Labor Day holiday put the emphasis on next week's report and whether improvement will be repeated. The day's other big news came from the trade report where July exports jumped 1.8 percent in a gain that eases concern over prior slowing. Exports have become a key element of the nation's recovery.

Demand for Treasuries sank in the session, reflected in a poorly received 30-year bond auction. The 30-year yield rose more than 10 basis points to 3.84 percent. The dollar was little changed with commodities mostly lower. Gold ended in the $1,240s." [Source: nasdaq.com., Mark Pender]
