    It was not my intention to seem simplistic, just to highlight that the articles were looking at it from different view points and that that presents the information in misleading terms. Saudi Arabia is one of the lowest cost producers in the world, that would be a given. But, changing that then to a fiscal standpoint, changes the dynamics of the argument.

    Most countries around the world are facing the same problem, that of balancing the budget. Saudi Arabia is not unique in this...but what is unique is their reliance on oil. But, that still does not change the original premise. Clearly, they face other problems...tax receipts being one of them (as it applies within the strict confines of Sharia Law)...but, as I said, so is every other nation right now.
