While OS markets and Wall Street are showing a tinge of pink as we speak, one of the headlines featured on Bloomberg tonight reads: "Surging Lithium Demand Outstrips Forecast of Major Producers."
And speaking of demand and supply, I note that Chile has entered its 9th year of severe drought, with this year eclipsing them all as one of the driest on record. Now consider how much water is used to process their brine derived lithium. Do I see the parched herald of a limiting factor to their proposed lift in production? Could be. And I can't see the peasants being too happy about all that mining use for their water in a prolonged drought - or the environmental lobby. Something to think about in the demand/supply equation going forward.
