In my view there are two possible outcomes.
Rinehart is taking a short term punt or she is looking long term at the consolidation process.
If the latter then she certainly has the clout as a catalyst to speed up consolidation process.
If this is the case she may well be looking to build up stakes in the other players to increase leverage for the concert parties.
time to start digging....
