Alan, was wondering when someone would bring his name up......I used to have a big list on my desk of companies which he was involved in & would refuse to buy them if he was on the Board & the list was very long. Also told off a Gold company at a mining expo in Brisbane when I saw they had employed him as a non executive director & said they would lose credibility if they had him on their books. IMO he has made himself scarce since they had to make resource statements JORC.
Many companies employed this guy (a great spin doctor) to give their companies a big boost up & he was usually issued minimum 100,000 or more shares for his fee which he always dumped on market after his spin on things was taken for gospel. He worked his way around many companies & I've seen a few on the heap that never had any of the resources that were originally put out in the announcements hence the JORC rules now.......anyway, I never touched LAF for this reason though could have made money on it.

I think he was also hired by SBM board so I kept away from that stock to my detriment possibly as it is in a great uptrend - may be one company that breaks the mould & actually has the goods but haven't followed it due to the fact that HM had been employed by the board so really cannot comment more on what SBM have or do not have so not saying it is a bad stock just that I'm wary of any use of the spin doctor.
