Yes. Agreed the WA government is playing politics and we hope they would not continue to increase the royalty to fix up their ailing budget. It is bizarre because any additional royalty raised would eventually be redistributed to other States through the GST mechanism. So in the long run WA keeps the additional royalty but loses GST. In the short run it may cause the closure of some marginal gold producers but GOR is a high margin producer. We hope the GST redistribution government team does the right thing by WA but we know the BS artists the federal politicians are.
