D&D makes a point of not advising of stop losses and does set them loosely and based on market, for the reason you mentioned. Sometimes there is just no need to sell. A stop loss on fluctuating stock price (within a set trading range) can sometimes just hurt sellers who need to buy back in to a stock that increases. NKP's trading range is still a good one.
