I suggest the opening bid will give you some idea of howmuch the acquirer sees a potential counter offer as being realistic or not.As already suggested, a solid first offer will be made if not the final at first,just to keep other parties at bay….not forgetting SQM’s right of last reply aswell. If SQM is the suitor, they will certainly not want to create counter interest,through a lowball offer, that could lead to some kind of auction. AIMHO
