A gentle word of caution to the Sellers amongus this close to the World finally waking up to the value of lithium

Generalising is a good way of getting your pointacross. It saves time and prevents the water from being muddied with: “yes, but on the other hand” arguments - provided you are telling the truth.

So here are some truths - generally speaking.

Remember the “Fidget Spinner”? The Must Haveitem not so long ago? It became a brief item in your possession due to one of the laws of consumerism: create a need and supply the product. Not only children bought (or were given) the Fidget Spinner. Adults did as well. Now these were not stupid people. Stupid people bought it too but that craving “must have” feeling you get in the reptile part of your brain which has no logic when a new gadget is promoted has nothing to do with intelligence. It has to do with Fear Of Missing Out. So you took out your dollars and bought the trinket. Then the ego kicked in and you felt obliged to defend your actions: “It’s actually good for coordination training, keeps mozzies at bay and - well - why shouldn’t I have something fun once in a while! Come to think of it…(here it comes…) I DESERVE it!

To tap into this reactive segment of your greymass keeps the economic wheels turning (or - if you like - spinning) and has made the shareholders of Mattel and their ilk’s very rich. And it is a GOOD attitude... for the people who hold Mattel shares. It is not so good however if you apply the same short-sighted gambling logic to your own start up portfolio.

So that was the law of creating a demand andthe supply the product - a very effective money maker.

    But there is another law…

This one turns the first law on its head byhaving an ever-increasing-need building up… but no product. People are genuinely and rightfully crying out for - you name it - a cure for cancer, a cure for cystic fibrosis, a way to suck up all the plastic from the oceans and maybe create something useful from it whilst employing millions of people.

This other law with change the world. But it is slow on the uptake because people are to hung up on the first law.

This - right now actually - reminds me of the movieMonsters Inc. Yes - there was energy in children’s screams of fear (the first law) buy my God! that was NOTHING compared to the untapped energy of their laughter!

Anyway - back to the original script.

THAT is the budding lithium market right now! The untapped power in children’s laughter… if you like.

However. To, not only SEE this, because all of us here on this page actually genuinely do, but also to ACT on it and STAY ON COURSE you cannot apply the mindset of a “Fidget Spinner”. You have to cross the floor to the other side.

On the other side sits the True Investors. They like toys too but will not let this cloud their judgement. Now if they - at the same time as the “Fidget Spinners” - were lucky enough to get in early on a promising stock they stick to their conviction whilst their counterpart quickly looses interest if the “spinner” stops spinning (why hasn’t there been any good news out of Kidman for - like -FOREVER?!) or isn’t fitted with new, exiting upgrades regularly (Get the NEW Fidget Spinner! Now it lights up in the dark!). The True Investor also do not use money needed for day-to-day commitments like food, transport or school fees so it does not matter if it takes a while - provided the investment continues to be sound. And as a bonus they further regularly add to their upcoming wealth by buying up the “Fidget Spinners” shares at a temporarily lower price as the Spinners loose heart.

Everything has become a commodity it seems. The ASX is no difference and it is during fluctuations in the share price that you DO and SHOULD make money. It would be prudent though to leave the spinner mentality behind and join the True Investors on the other side. When the pay out comes - and this will be at different levels for all of us - you can buy all the Spinners you like! Chances are you won’t though. Because now you are an INVESTOR!
