Petrol/diesel is ingrained and it will probably take a generation before EV is the new normal. When the offspring of tomorrow grow up in a society of EV. Meanwhile the petrol sniffers will hold on to the noise machines that generations have grown up with until they don't make them anymore or can't sell the one they have. The transition for some could be tough.
