FUN FACTOID - The Centre for Strategic and International Studies estimates that Chinese national and local governments spent $59 Billion on the EV industry between 2009 and 2017. Source: Bloomberg 24/10/2018 (imbedded within an article about Trump negotiations with Xi at the upcoming G20 1st Dec).

A lot of incentive money in that $59 Billion, but even so... not peanuts. My rubbery figures suggest, given VW is in the game for $50 Billion, and with all the other expenditure in this space including "operating" lithium mines, all the EV manufacturers, home storage, grid storage etc, etc, that this sector is currently worth well north of a $Trillion - and growing exponentially by the day.

But what astounds me more than the dollar value of the lithium battery space, with all its inclusions, is that this sector is still embryonic. I'd be telling the Lith gurus here on HC nothing they don't already know. But for the newbies still thinking about dipping their toe in the lithium water - TIME WAITS FOR NO MAN - and either will the lithium space if you haven't yet secured your piece of the action.
