    Worked in that part of the world about 10 years ago and the roads weren't that bad at all.

    Sure Burkina Faso is one of the poorest nations in the world and their roads are very average but the way the Africans load their trucks up and just keep them running regardless of conditions-they are very resourceful people the trucks will get through.

    Once you get into the Ivory Coast there is basically a two lane highway running down the country to Abijan, albeit the border crossing into Ghana is a nightmare.

    Didn't really get into the north of Ghana above the Ashanti region but the roads in the main were of a good standard. I don't see any problems with transportation. Never took the train so dont know much about that network, however did catch a phospate train inland in Mauritania, which is a very poor and desolate nation. The train schedule there worked like clockwork (in Africa time!!)

    Granted this was all ten years back and over there things are often built to a high standard and then receive no maintenence and are allowed to steadily decay.
