*never put all eggs in one basket - have at least 8 stocks going at once
* forget margin lending above 40% gearing - dont get greedy
* stop loss orders (oh wait most dont think of that then lose a lot more - would not have helped wit hSGW but when the shareprice started to slide some at least would have gotten out early
* diversify and dont go into debt to trade shares any more than 40% gearing.
