Although I am never one to rain on anyones parade, but if memory serves me correct, Sino did make application to the FIRB to takeover MMX back in the good ole days before the the great financial collapse.That resulted in an ok from the Board for Sino to take up to 49.9% of the Company.Now I am not aware if such approvals have a sunset clause in them however I am sure there will be a contributor on this thread who can put us wise on the matter.One thing I am absolutely certain of and that is, no foreign company will receive approval for a 100% takeover over a mining enterprise that is deemed to be an existing mine or a producer and I think that FIRB ruling, just as an aside, includes oil and gas producers.
