To some the end of NWT is only .5c away.

the thing i dont understand if this is the case why are they opening of new offices one in Perth and the other in Brisbane.

In the past they would have had an ASX announcement for something like this. Now nothing. go figure if this is a company not going anywhere.

    Here is the news release:

    NewSat rides resources boom

    Thursday, 02 November 2006
Satellite telco opens new sales offices in WA and Queensland.
Aiming to cash in on the resources boom in Western Australia and Queensland, NewSat (ASX:NWT) has opened two new sales offices, one in Perth and the other south of Brisbane.
NewSat is a leader in providing satellite connectivity for mining and resources exploration where satellite technology is the link of choice between head offices, regional offices and the workers in the field.

The recent national economic growth figures have endorsed the NewSat’s expansion strategy to increase on-ground sales representation and service into the key growth areas of Australia.

The validation came as the Federal Treasurer Mr Peter Costello announced that on the back of $32 billion of nationwide investment in mining since 2004, the Western Australian economy had grown 14 percent this past year and in the Queensland economy, despite the effects of Cyclone Larry and the dent it has put in agri-business, the resource boom has created a 7.3 percent surge.

NewSat has developed a range of specifically designed antennas and systems for remote connection and now seeks to ramp up its service to exploration companies head offices with a sales force located on their doorstep.

In Perth, NewSat has a major teleport facility (see photo) and the new sales office, headed up by Andrew Rose, the Regional Business Development Manager, is housed within the facility at Bayswater.

In Queensland, Ron Miller, Regional Development Manager heads up the field force which reaches not only to Far North Queensland, but the Northern Territory, East Timor and Papua New Guinea.

Founder and CEO of NewSat, Mr Adrian Ballintine said, “The growth in the economies of these two States is heavily stimulated by a boom in resources including continuing exploration. NewSat recognized this and is delivering sales and service to these emerging markets where satellite technology is an integral part of such remote and rugged activity in some of the world’s most hostile environment.

"The sales service delivered locally is a logical step in the business plan of NewSat to continually strive to enhance customer service and satisfaction.

"These two new offices complement our sales offices established in Sydney, NewSat’s Middle East hub at Dubai and our head office in Melbourne,“These two new offices complement our sales offices established in Sydney, NewSat’s Middle East hub at Dubai and our head office in Melbourne," he said.

"Our technology is world class as evidenced by the many contracts we operate for a myriad of major clients but especially international government and NGO work which relies on NewSat for their satellite connection across the world surface outside Europe and the US.

"But now we are promoting heavier than ever to our local multi-national exploration companies in support of their core requirement for remote access to broadband connection whether they are drilling speculative holes in ground in outback Australia, in the Pacific such as Philippines, New Guinea, in east Africa, in Asia or, in fact, off shore typically in the search for oil and gas," he said.
