A very interesting article in today's Australian, written by Jennifer Hewitt, which details what everyone has been saying for the past month and Rudd/Conroy just cannot see..
Firstly, the building of this network is overly ambitous and the $43 billion cost seriously questioned..
Secondly, If this project ever gets off the ground, Telstra has to have a majority interest in the beginning and probably full ownership at the end..
So, contrary to some opinion, Telstra still has a lot of negotiating power/opinion with the Governement.. Hence all the whinging already commenced by Optus..
