You're assuming option buyers are there to trade in the short term. Definitely not a ''mugs game' if you looking to hold to somewhere near maturity and potentially convert.
Personally I've made significantly more than I would of with the equivalent in heads and I'm not the only one. In saying that, newbies should not be buying options if they don't understand the underlying mechanics
