From what I can see they have been drilling the prospect for several years doing normal exploration stuff. Some holes eventually found some good mineralisation. Normal stuff, the way exploration happens, not extraordinary work and deserving of $2.3 million.
He got paid an average of around $400k a year for the last 3 years, 335k per year more than the CDU directors. Now for doing his job he wants another $2.3 million. Don't forget that this options grant is an attempt to rollover the current deal because he has FAILED to reach performance targets set for the previous tranch.
