Apples, lenders are looking to reduce their exposure not increase it. This is what the whole issue is about. Who out of the current lenders is going to fork out hundreds of millions of dollars to buy out CBAs share?
As for debt for equity, this may happen, but if it does I wouldn't want to be a current shareholder. Look at CNPs current marketcap and think about how many shares would need to be issued to swap the current debt (or even an agree portion).
