re: phosphate plays That chart looks to be a bit dodgy to me. According to the chart DAP was at $1000 in August 2007 however DAP didn't reach that price until around March 2008.
I don't view that chart to be a true example of whats to come. In any case the chart indicates that we have at least 3 years before we can expect DAP prices to be below the current price.
Expect further blow outs due to unforeseen circumstances.
