That's one way, and to each his own, - but for me that is a slightly higher risk strategy than simply climbing on board a rising trend.
Sometimes a stock will remain 'undervalued' for ages. If I buy anything under that strategy and it does not move fairly quickly, its out.
I'm not being critical, just pointing out to anyone who is new to this, that trying to be first with the news can be exhausting, and when its all said and done, may not be necessary.
There is nothing worse than buying soemthing that is great 'value' only to watch it languish while some other stock that everybody is on to, powers away.
I gave up chasing beig first with the news long ago, and the only change has been reduced stress.
