    re: showdown Agreed acturtle,

All that stuff posted to backup the buy and hold
argument is just theory ... proposed by a bunch
of academics that probably have never had to
figure out a trade for themselves.

To be meaningful, it should have a PRACTICAL element
attached to it, like show us your trading plan ... this
applies to traders and "investors" alike.

... and we still don't have any response to the three questions for these long term HDR holders:

    Where EXACTLY is your exit?

If you work on profit percentages, how come you
didn't take your profits when HDR was over $1.oo
... that surely met your pecentage gain from where
you claim to be holding ... yes?

Do you REALLY have any sort of trading plan to
take profits, WHILE THEY EXIST, in this trade?

    ------

Some examples of trading, that would see you well
down the track of making 30%pa ... some of it from
    trading speccy oilers, like:

ARQ on it's own, returned 40+% in 5 trading days,
    late in October, 02.

AYO up 20+% in the same period ...

Of course, 30% pa is achievable by traders.

At least, some of us have enough confidence in
our trading to declare our trades up front ... not so,
the buy and hold crowd, because by the nature of
their attitude ... they have no plan of how their
    trades will be executed.

Just buy and hold, eh .... 'til when?

    happy trading
