Absolutely! It is clear that they are attempting to achieve a very difficult outcome. The video certainly highlights just how complex this system is.

Those curves that show the actuation protocol (about 24:00) to shuffle the particles onto the sensor surface could have taken many many man-years to optimise, and changing any variable (such as the properties of the glue) could mean that the whole thing needs to be redone.

There is definitely a lot more to it than just the "glue". So even if M&G glue is far superior it would affect many inter-related parameters and we have to understand that it might not immediately produce a better overall result in the system and they would be very reluctant go back to the drawing board.
