Trudrive / PeterH / et alii ... Being the intelligent gathering ferret that I am, I had a re-read of TEEs ann. (see below) of their $700,000 RST order from Horizon Mobil. The quetioned that begged an answer was who is Horizon Mobile? Well as I was trained, you follow the money. That lead me down a very interesting road.
1) First the org. chart of Horizon Mobile:
As of 31 March 2003
- Horizon Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. Thailand
With subsidiary as follows:
- Horizon Mobile Communications
(H.K.) Co., Ltd. China
- Horizon Mobile Communications Pte Ltd Singapore
- Horizon Mobile Communications
(Norway) Co., Ltd. Norway
- Horizon Mobile Communications
(Australia) Ltd. Australia
This gives Horizon Mobile a worlwide network in communications. Now for the interesting connection. Who controls Horizon Mobile?
2) Horizon Mobiles' main shareholder (30.5%) is Thoresen Thai Agencies Plc. The holding company of the Thoresen Group, and is listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. It is one of the leading shipping groups with a physical presence in Thailand dated back to 1926.
The Thoresen group of companies is one of the largest conglomerates within the Thai shipping sector and the Thai shipping services sector. At the centre of the group is Thoresen Thai Agencies Plc.. This company owns as a holding company both the shipping operations of the group as well as all the shipping related services by way of a variety of subsidiary companies and joint ventures.
3) Now you connect the dots of Horizon Mobile to The Thoresen group of companies and you have a worldwide network of communiaction companies linked with a worldwide maritime conglomerate.
4) OK where does this lead us from here? Well it will have to be a forward thinking assumption on my part ( I'll try and get some concrete information if I can ). That assumption harps back to my posts of yesterday on the EU Political dependence on the US for GPS maritime communications.
OK that forward thinking assumption based on a statement made in the announcement as follows:
"Horizon had been testing the prototype product of Beam’s maritime application for the past month"
What if Horizon Mobile and The Thoresen Group were able to use their network of connections in the EU maritime associations to have the Beam Remote Satellite Terminal (RST) as the communications standard for the EU and worlwide maritime shipping associations et alibi ? It would definitely make a mute issue of the EU Political dependence on the US for GPS maritime communications. It would more importantly make (TEE) Tele-IP a worldwide telecommunications leader via Horizon Mobile and a very profitable company.
Again I will try to put some meat on this skeleton I have created if I can find any additional intel that will back it up.
Again this does not take anything way from the Wind Profiler. But it gives TEE / Beam Communications a ready made niche market for their RST devices that can come off the shelf whlist TEE negotiates with companies / agencies on the Wind Profiler.
OK group what are your thoughts or comments???
Disclaimer: These are my thoughts and assumptions and solely based what I have researched and put forward as a forward thinking assumption. And it is worth what you paid for it $0.00.
