It's not just ASIC, it's also the ASX in a quest for volume and more profits. They all turn a blind eye to the corruption and outright theft. I mean the ASX just recently (a few months ago) tabled a proposal to increase companies abilities to make dilutionary, value destroying and ultimately selective placements beyond the already unfettered right of companies to make discriminatory placements of 15% of the capital base in any given financial year, to 25%. I haven't followed what has transpired since, but i know ASIC didn't even raise an eyebrow initially (hopefully they have).
ASIC and ASX are a disgrace. They do very little to protect the rights of ordinary retail shareholders. This current episode is just sad.
