re: uranium mining in aus Agree, Howard was slowly raising the odds by causing division amongst ALP people and other segments first and once this was evident, he reached for the next political ace.
A very clever political play where opposing factions could only react and by doing so, made themselves look even more ridiculous by fighting each other.
All Howard has to do is to keep the nuclear issue alive.
