re: well design flaws Economist
some of us believe that Hardman has value and potential that is unrealized. Some of us are lucky enough to be able to reflext that belief in a long term buy and hold strategy. Others have to trade more - well lets face it, thats all of us to some degree.
If future asset value is not be transferred to large information rich fund managers, at the expense of smaller shareholders, information needs to provided to the market in a transparent fashion. Its Economics 101 really - funny that.
Some of us are not happy with the information flow. This angst arises I think from three things. Where the information is sometimes obviously flowing early behind closed doors - where information that should have been provided is not as subsequent events reveal, and where information foreshadowed never happends (Simon's infamous shortly phrase).
Where I have lost money due to poor or careless handling of corporate information - I am entitled to complain - and loudly. Sure, I can sell, but where that will only harm my long term interests, I choose to excercise my right to complain. In extreme cases of information problems, the law states that it is an issue that ASIC is concerned about. I don't think we need ASIC here - but all companies need to be aware that ASIC exists and that they must provide good and timely information to the market.
To 618 - you mean 15% discount to your what I gather is a very conservative NAV calculation? For example, you have taken the problem areas of Chingeutta out altogether, which is maybe too harsh for many of us.
