Wood fired pizzas are the best.

There used to be an Italian restaurant called Far Horizons at the Novotel Brighton Beach in Sydney. They had the best food, incl. the best Spaghetti Marinaras (which incl. Balmain bugs!!), and the most awesome Wood Fired Gourmet Pizzas (which were also quite innovative at times)....but alas the hotel shut it down about 5 years ago to concentrate on their very average quality buffet restaurant.

We have never found another place anywhere near the quality.

The Gourmet Pizza Kitchen is okay (but nowhere near as good as Far Horizons used to be).

As far as the cheap takeaway places go, Dominos is the best, but quality appears to be highly variable from store to store.

If anyone knows of a great wood fired pizza and pasta place in Sydney please let me know as well.
