Sorry but I disagree. For the not simple minded, technology development is (according to IGI Global - first thing youll find doing technology development definition in google)
1. Any invention and product innovation that enables a new good to be produced, and a process innovation or method that enables an existing good to be produced at a lower cost as a result of the increase in the efficiency of the factors used in its production.
2. The systematic use of scientific, technical, economic and commercial knowledge to meet specific business objectives or requirements
Explain to me how the novel lupin protein work is not technology development? Trying to take some lab scale thing to commercialisation is technology development whether its someone trying to get an automated bricklaying machine off the ground, a fancy computer chip or a novel protein food source.
Technology isnt just computers, software and Silicon Valley you sparrow.
